IKEA Canada is recalling its Gothem lamps line due to the risk of electric shock.
The Swedish furniture giant says in some cases, the Gothem floor and table lamps may produce a shock if the lamp’s metal body becomes exposed due to damaged cables.
There hasn’t been any reports of injuries due to the lamps, but anyone who owns one should stop using it immediately.
IKEA is asking all customers to return the lamp to the store for a full refund, even if it is still functioning properly. No proof of purchase is required for the recall. Customers can also call 1-800-661-9807.
The Gothem lamps were sold in all IKEA markets since October 2015.
