‘Folk Festival Wednesdays’ Taking Over Old Market Square

Winnipeg Folk FestivalThe Winnipeg Folk Festival may be over for the year, but its sounds will carry on in Old Market Square.

Every Wednesday, free noon-hour concerts on the Cube stage will provide entertainment for those chowing down on their lunch.

A different local restaurant will offer diners a 10% discount every Wednesday if they mention they’re attending Folk Festival Wednesdays. The offer runs from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

August 17
Folk troubadour Jaxon Haldane is coming back to Winnipeg, and he’s bringing some friends.
Participating restaurant: King & Bannatyne, 100 King St.

August 24
Victoria, BC indie-folk darlings Good For Grapes
Participating restaurant: Chosabi, A-100 King St.

August 31
Hometown roots duo Roger Roger
Participating restaurant: Bodegoes, 98 Albert St.
