WINNIPEG — City crews are continuing repair work on a water main break on Dawson Road North between Marion Street and Lagimodiere Boulevard.

The large water main ruptured Tuesday morning and forced a closure during the rush hour commute.

All lanes on Marion Street between Dawson Road North and Lagimodiere Boulevard, and Dawson Road North between Marion Street and Lagimodiere Boulevard, are open and will be maintained while repairs are being completed.

The city says crews are on site and hope to have the repair completed by the end of the day.

As a result of the break, some residents in the area may notice a discolouration to their water.

Those that do notice such a change in water colour should run cold water for a few minutes. Catch some water in a light-coloured cup. If the water isn’t clear, turn off the tap, wait 30 minutes and try again. Discoloured water usually doesn’t last long. If the water still isn’t clear after waiting two to three hours, contact 311.
