Heading to the Whiteout Street Party? Bring a Tin for the Bin

Winnipeg Harvest has put the call out for urgent food donations and True North Sports + Entertainment has picked up.

During tonight’s Winnipeg Whiteout Street Party, fans are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items for the local food bank.

Donations will also be collected on Saturday, May 5 during the Manitoba Moose game at 4 p.m. and the Winnipeg Whiteout Viewing Party inside Bell MTS Place at 8:30 p.m.

Bins will be located at each street party entrance tonight and at each of the four entrances at Bell MTS Place on Saturday.

The most needed food items for Winnipeg Harvest are canned stew, canned beans, canned fish, and peanut butter, as well as pasta, rice, instant potatoes, mac and cheese mix, canned soup, canned vegetables and canned fruit.

Gates to tonight’s street party open at 6 p.m. Puck drop between the Winnipeg Jets and Nashville Predators is at 8:30 p.m.
