WINNIPEG — A woman was knocked down and briefly dragged as two other women stole her purse and other belongings on Wednesday morning.
The 65-year-old victim was walking in the area of Sargent Avenue and Sherbrook Street at around 10:20 a.m. when she noticed the suspects following her.
Shortly after, the victim was pushed to the ground from behind and fell on her hands and knees. Her purse was grabbed by one of the suspects, who dragged the victim and caused her to suffer minor injuries.
The stolen purchase contained cash, banking cards, identification, a cell phone and approximately 20 Alprazolam pills of an unknown dosage. Police warn taking any large quantities of this medication could be dangerous, especially if mixed with alcohol or other drugs.
Both suspects are described as being Indigenous in appearance, 21-years-old, 5’4″ in height with long dark hair.
One of the women was wearing a black zip-up sweater with a red checkered shirt underneath it and black leggings. She was carrying a black backpack with red stripes.
The second suspect was wearing a black zip-up sweater with black leggings. She was carrying a black backpack with pink stripes.
