14 Charged with Impaired Driving During Week 2 of Police Checkstop Program

WINNIPEG — Fourteen people have been charged with impaired driving during the second week of the Winnipeg police festive season checkstop program, including one person impaired by drugs.

Police checked 2,106 vehicles between December 8-14 and administered 69 roadside breath tests.

One test registered positive for cannabis. Five people were arrested for non-driving related offences and 50 tickets were issued.

The checkstop program continues every day in December until New Year’s Eve.
