Charges against a Winnipeg man have been upgraded after the victim of an assault passed away.
A man in his 30s was assaulted on August 16 in the area of Tylehurst Street and Wolseley Avenue West. Police arrived to find the man unresponsive and had him transported to hospital in critical condition.
The suspect, who police say knew the victim, was originally charged with aggravated assault. He has now also been charged with manslaughter.
Alexander Agnus McPherson, 29, remains in custody.
Police are continuing to investigate.
