WINNIPEG — Three people were arrested and charged Monday after police found weapons and drugs inside a vehicle.
Officers first spotted a stolen vehicle travelling in the area of Lombard Avenue and Rorie Street at around 4:15 a.m. and followed it as it travelled north over the Disraeli Bridge and into a parking lot in the 100 block of Talbot Avenue.
Police initiated a traffic stop, but the driver reversed the vehicle and crashed it into the police cruiser. Both vehicles were heavily damaged and the suspect then drove towards one of the officers, narrowly missing them. The vehicle was then driven into a fence and unable to move any further.
The three people inside attempted to run from the scene, but were arrested. Police Tasered one of the suspects during the arrest.
Officers search the vehicle and located a zip gun, methamphetamine and stolen property related to an earlier residential break-in in East St. Paul.
Danielle Marlene Sanderson, 26, Myles Junior Keewatincappo, 30, and Brenton Sean Paul Harper, 25, all face several charges and remain in custody.
