A collision with a semi-trailer truck on a Manitoba logging road has claimed the life of a 16-year-old boy.

The teen was riding a snowmobile Wednesday afternoon in Duck Mountain Provincial Park when the crash occurred.

RCMP say two snowmobiles were travelling north when one of them collided with the semi heading south. The driver of the snowmobile, from the RM of Minitonas-Bowsman, was pronounced deceased at the scene. The other rider, a 17-year-old boy, wasn’t injured.

The 32-year-old man driving the semi also wasn’t injured.

Alcohol doesn’t appear to be a factor in the collision.

Swan River RCMP continue to investigate.
