WestJet will ramp up the number of flights that travel between Calgary to Winnipeg and Brandon this summer.
The airline announced Friday 90 new flights from Calgary including new non-stop WestJet Link service to Dawson Creek, B.C.
Among the additions is an increase of seven weekly flights between Calgary and Winnipeg, and an increase from seven to 11 weekly flights to Brandon, Manitoba.
“WestJet continues to invest in YYC Calgary International Airport as its home base and expansion focus. These additional flights will serve more guests bound for more destinations, delivering recreational and business opportunities for our region,” said Bob Sartor, president and CEO, the Calgary Airport Authority.
Brandon landed direct air service between Calgary in 2013. The Wheat City also briefly had direct flights to Toronto, which WestJet cancelled in 2016 due to limited interest.
The airline also revealed plans to increase frequency from Calgary to other destinations, including Portland, Ore., Victoria, Nanaimo, Comox, Grand Prairie, Fort McMurray, Abbotsford and Yellowknife.
WestJet will also begin a new route between Calgary and Boston starting May 14, 2020.
