Wasagaming RCMP have identified the victim of a fatal house fire in Newdale, Manitoba on February 14.

Firefighters found human remains inside the structure once flames were brought under control last Friday morning.

An autopsy was performed on Tuesday and identified the remains as those of the resident, a 74-year-old man.

The cause of death doesn’t appear to be suspicious, according to police.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
