A 29-year-old man from Cross Lake was struck and killed Friday night while walking in the middle of Highway 6, north of Devil’s Lake.
Manitoba RCMP received several calls about the pedestrian in the roadway shortly before 7 p.m.
While en route, officers were told the man had been struck by a southbound semi-trailer. He was pronounced deceased at the scene. No other injuries were reported.
RCMP say it’s believed the semi, being driven by a 61-year-old man, was unable to avoid the pedestrian and collided with him.
Grand Rapids RCMP continue to investigate.
