The federal and Manitoba governments are partnering with the Canadian Red Cross to match public donations supporting wildfire relief efforts.

For every $1 donated to the 2025 Manitoba Wildfires Appeal, the governments will each contribute $1, tripling the impact. The donation-matching program applies to donations made within 30 days of May 28, when the appeal launched. The federal cap is $30 million; the province will match up to $15 million.

Funds will provide financial aid, emergency accommodations, recovery support, and community preparedness as wildfires continue to displace thousands across the province.

“This has been a devastating beginning to wildfire season in Canada and our thoughts are with those impacted by the fires,” said Conrad Sauvé, president and CEO, Canadian Red Cross.

“The Red Cross is committed to providing support to people in the immediate days of the response, as well as for recovery.”

Donations can be made at redcross.ca or by calling 1-800-418-1111.
