A 22-year-old woman faces charges after allegedly assaulting an RCMP officer during an arrest in Selkirk early Saturday morning.
Police were first called to a disturbance at a home on Outhwaite Drive around 2:50 a.m. on May 31. The woman involved had left before officers arrived but returned about 20 minutes later.
When officers attempted to arrest her, she resisted, kicked one officer, and bit another on the leg. The officer sustained minor injuries and was treated and released.
The woman was taken into custody and later to hospital due to self-harming behaviour. She has since been released and is scheduled to appear in court on August 8, facing two counts of assaulting a police officer and resisting arrest.
RCMP continue to investigate.
