Winnipeg Man Killed in Head-On Crash in RM of St. Andrews

RCMP Logo VehicleA 57-year-old Winnipeg man was killed Sunday when the SUV he was driving collided head-on with a pickup in the RM of St. Andrews.

RCMP say his vehicle was attempting to pass a pick-up truck on Highway 9 at Bowser Road when the collision occurred at around 1:15 p.m.

A man trying to sell a hoodie through the Letgo app was robbed of his clothing at knifepoint in Selkirk on January 27.

RCMP say the robbery happened at around 3 p.m. on Sveinson Street.

IIU Watchdog Probing Police Pursuit Crash in Selkirk

Independent Investigation Unit of Manitoba - IIUTwo people were injured in a crash in Selkirk on Saturday, prompting the Manitoba’s Independent Investigation Unit to step in.

The IIU says a brief pursuit took place at around 8:16 p.m. when police attempted to stop a pickup truck near the intersection of Manitoba Avenue and Main Street. The driver failed to stop and sped through a red light, colliding with another vehicle.

Police Dog Helps Nab Two Suspects in Selkirk

Two people were arrested early Friday in Selkirk after evading police through a field in a stolen SUV.

Officers tried to pull over the vehicle at around 3:15 a.m. on Main Street, but it wouldn’t stop. The driver entered East Selkirk at a slow speed and eventually became hung up trying to drive through a farmyard.

The ribbon has been cut on Manitoba’s newest regional hospital.

The Selkirk Regional Health Centre officially opened Thursday, showcasing its 180,506 square-foot facility that created two times the health-care space compared to its previous centre.

RCMP were called to an address on Jemima Street at around 10 p.m. where they found three people requiring medical assistance. Police say a group had been arguing before an assault took place.
