A new spray pad has opened at Bronx Park Community Centre. (WINNIPEG.CA)
A new 3,000-square-foot accessible spray pad is now open at Bronx Park Community Centre in Winnipeg.
The $1 million project — funded through the federal Canada Community-Building Fund ($913,000) and the City of Winnipeg ($87,000) — includes new pathways, seating areas, shade structures, a water fountain, bike rack, and landscaping.
Officials from all levels of government celebrated the opening on Saturday, highlighting the late Councillor Jason Schreyer’s role in championing the project.
“This new spray pad is a great addition for families in Elmwood — East Kildonan and North Kildonan,” said Mayor Scott Gillingham. “It’s an example of what we can accomplish when all levels of government work together with the community.”
Admission is free for the public. The spray pad is open daily from 9:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. at 720 Henderson Highway.
