The province has reopened applications for the Manitoba Security Rebate Program, offering up to $300 to help residents offset the cost of home security equipment.

The program first launched in June 2024, and funding was quickly maxed out by applicants.

Eligible purchases include security cameras, alarm systems, reinforced doors or windows, locks, and motion detectors, among other upgrades. The rebate applies to qualifying equipment bought and installed on or after Aug. 23, 2024, and will remain open until $2 million in applications have been approved.

A separate rebate program for small businesses is expected later this year.

Residents can apply for the rebate online.
