It’s not every day a lost-and-found story crosses international borders — but a pair of AirPods recently made quite the journey from Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport to Portage la Prairie, Manitoba.
According to Manitoba RCMP, a traveller reported his missing earbuds online after realizing he’d left them behind at O’Hare. When he checked his tracking app, he was surprised to see them pinging from a house more than 1,400 kilometres away in Portage la Prairie.
Mounties followed the signal and found homeowners who admitted they’d discovered the AirPods at the busy Chicago airport but weren’t sure how to return them. They handed them over without issue, and the well-travelled earbuds are now on their way back to their rightful owner… racking up more miles than most people’s vacation plans.
