Home Hardware has opened its first Winnipeg location, expanding the retailer’s presence in Western Canada.
Winnipeg South Home Hardware, located at 2860 Pembina Highway, Unit 30, officially opened to the public on Tuesday in the space once occupied by Peavey Mart.
The store is owned by Ryan St. John, who also operates two Home Hardware Building Centre locations in Nunavut. He said the new Winnipeg store aims to meet growing demand for home improvement services in the city’s south end.
“Opening Winnipeg’s first Home Hardware store is an exciting milestone for the city,” said St. John, dealer-owner, in a release.
“As our third Home location, we’re proud to continue delivering friendly, knowledgeable service and everything needed to make home improvement projects easier and more enjoyable.”
Home Hardware executives and local dignitaries attended a preview event featuring traditional Inuit entertainment and a first look at the store’s product lineup on Monday evening. A larger community grand opening is planned for spring 2026.
