Winnipeg Transit‘s winter schedule is officially in effect, with riders noticing changes as of Sunday.
The city says under the new schedule, there have been a number of improvements based on rider feedback earlier this year.
Among the changes, nighttime hours have been adjusted in 10 On-Request zones:
- All zones that currently operate after 7 p.m. will extend service until around 2 a.m. on weekdays and Saturdays
- On Sundays and holidays, those zones will operate until around 12:45 a.m.
- Boundaries for Zone 103 will also expand so passengers can take On-Request to Garden City Shopping Centre and Walmart
- Hours for daytime-only On-Request zones (104 and 110) will not change
Other changes that took effect on Sunday:
- Full rewrites of schedules for D12, D13, D16, and F8, with 49 service hours added to these routes on weekdays
- New trips added to six school-serving routes experiencing capacity issues
- An extra before and after school trip for routes 557, 649, and 678
- An extra before school trip for routes 442, 694, and 885
