A Melita woman has died following a crash with a heavy-duty truck on the Trans-Canada Highway just west of Brandon on Monday.

Manitoba RCMP say the two-vehicle crash happened at around 10:10 a.m. at the Kemnay turnoff, when a northbound SUV attempted to cross the highway and was hit by an eastbound semi-trailer.

The 69-year-old female driver of the SUV died of her injuries.
