RCMP say four people have been charged after they broke into a business in Portage la Prairie.

Portage la Prairie RCMP said they were called to a business in the 2700 block of Saskatchewan Avenue West Friday morning at about 4:10 a.m.

There, they learned that a man and a woman had loaded more than $10,000 worth of goods and equipment into a car parked behind the building. The pair then sped off in the car.

However, there were no signs of forced entry, nor were the doors unlocked.

It wasn’t until later that officers realized the break-in and theft had happened at a business next door.

Police found the suspects and raided a home on 18th St. NW, where they found the stolen items along with small amounts of fentanyl, crystal meth, drug paraphernalia and $780 in cash.

Four people inside the home were arrested.

Alysha Bell, 24, Henry Jackson, 39, Brennda Geddes, 35 and Roman Houle, 40, all of Portage la Prairie, face several several charges. Jackson and Houle are in custody, while Bell and Geddes were released after a court appearance.
