2nd Annual Celebrity Pumpkin Carving Contest (VIDEO)

Local celebrities competed at Kildonan Place on Tuesday in the 2nd Annual Celebrity Pumpkin Carving Contest in support of UNICEF Canada.

Fifteen teams took part to attempt to carve the best jack-o’-lantern with only minimal time.

CTV’s Jordan Witzel tried to impress the judges by putting his cute newborn baby, Slade, on the table next to his pumpkin, but unfortunately, that wasn’t enough to grab a win. On the other side of the room, Global TV’s Craig Larkins wasn’t too confident he could beat his arch weather rival.

Awards went to:

  • Judges’ Choice: Andrew Collier and Paul Duque, Winnipeg Goldeyes for “Goldie”
  • Runner Up: Dave Angus and Wendy Stephenson, Winnipeg Chamber of Commerce
  • Honourable Mention: Jon Ljungberg and Michael Draven, Citytv’s Breakfast Television
  • Honourable Mention: Doug Speirs, Winnipeg Free Press
  • Scariest Pumpkin (TIE): Laura Reavie and Meera Bahadoosingh, Shaw TV/ Corey Quintaine and Peter Havens, Kildonan Place
  • People’s Choice: Adam Taylor and Jay Richardson, CURVE 94.3
  • Most Artistically Challenged: Billie Jo Ross and Jay Oliver, 102.3 Clear FM.
