An old Santa Claus display from a Winnipeg shopping centre has raised $5,000 for the Children’s Rehabilitation Foundation.
Kildonan Place unloaded its “Santa’s Christmas Cabin” display a few weeks ago on Kijiji. The initial ask on the 11-year-old display was for $2,000, with any funds exceeding that price going towards the CRF.
WINNIPEG — Kildonan Place has won a gold marketing award for a touch-screen kiosk called Happybot.
The International Council of Shopping Centers recognized the mall in the digital campaign/emergency technology category for the easy-to-use kiosk that offers customers coupons, perks, discounts and giveaways.
Showing off shiny new washrooms complete with combo wash/dryer faucets may not sound like a big deal. However, for Kildonan Place customers, the loo area ranks high on the list of recent additions made at the 37-year-old-shopping mall.
“You’d be amazed at how excited people are, including our tenants, that another set of washrooms are a part of this expansion to the mall,” said Kildonan Place general manager Sandra Hagenaars. “We’ve only ever had one set of washrooms here, and having this is really significant,” she chuckled.
