Rogers Communications said Thursday that it would be cutting 3% of their workforce, or 900 positions across Canada.
The cuts are said to have minimal effect on “frontline” employees, and more so on human resources, marketing and communications and technology support operations.
Despite the layoffs, Rogers say they continue to hire for customer service positions and that the reduction in other areas is an effort to “streamline.”
It wasn’t immediately known which cities would see the cuts, but Rogers spokesperson Terrie Tweddle told ChrisD.ca that there will be “No impact to Citytv.”
UPDATE: Both 92 CITI FM and 102.3 CLEAR FM will also see no impact due to the layoffs, we’re told.
