If traffic headaches on McPhillips Street weren’t already a hassle for motorists, expect more as of tonight.
The city is closing McPhillips between Jarvis Avenue and Selkirk Avenue beginning at 8 p.m. for rail crossing repair — the third street to close throughout Winnipeg within a week for similar work.
McPhillips Street will remain open to local traffic between Jarvis Avenue and the rail crossing, and between Selkirk Avenue and the rail crossing.
Motorists are encouraged to use alternate north-south routes such as Keewatin Street or Salter Street / Isabel Street.
The following transit routes will be affected during the closure: 33 Maples, 30 Inkster Park Express, 34 McPhillips Express, 35 Maples Express, 36 Northwest Super Express and 71 Arlington via McPhillips.
The road will reopen by 6 a.m. on Wednesday, July 14.
