Governments Pulling Together for United Way

September 10, 2010 6:44 AM CDT | News

UPDATE: 8:36 a.m. — Due to the rain, this event has been postponed to a future date to be determined.

All three levels of government will be coming together later this morning, but it won’t be for a funding announcement.

Representatives from the civic, provincial and federal levels will be joining hundreds of supporters from the United Way of Winnipeg for a bus pull.

The goal — if you aren’t familiar with bus pull activities — is to see who can pull the bus the furthest in the shortest period of time.

The annual event has brought out 38 teams this year, compared to 18 last year.

The pull is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. on the south side of the Legislative Building. The event runs until 1 p.m.

On September 17, the United Way will hold their annual plane pull competition.
