Truck Brings Down Power Lines in Industrial Park

Hydro lines came crashing down Friday afternoon in the 900 block of Sherwin Road just off Saskatchewan Avenue.

Watch:

Emergency crews responded to Petals West Inc. shortly after 2 p.m. when a transport truck’s trailer was too high for the clearance and snagged the lines while attempting to make a delivery.

The driver remained in the truck under live wires while crews worked to cut power in the area. Contents from two transformers spilled into a nearby sewer drain, while a power pole was split in half.

A witness on scene tells us this is the second time in recent weeks that a truck’s trailer has taken down the power lines.
