February 2, 2011 7:14 AM | Entertainment

Young filmmakers aged 18 and under are being encouraged to submit their best videos.

It’s all part of the 15th Annual Freeze Frame International Film Festival, March 3 to 12. The all ages festival will include international guest artists and the opportunity for aspiring filmmakers to see their work on the big screen.

Two categories are open for entry, including Wee Reels (ages 13 and under) and Reel Views (ages 14 to 18). The criteria is short videos — seven minutes and under.

Videos will be accepted until February 15, 2011. Both classroom projects and individual entries are welcome.

Entry forms and details on the video competition are available at freezeframeonline.org/youth-video-contest.

Judges for the event include Joanne Kelly (Shaw TV), Mike Maryniuk (Cattle Call), Divya Mehra (international multimedia artist), John Tanasiciuk (NFB’s A Cow’s Tale), and Laurence Véron (On Screen Manitoba).

The festival is set to take place at the Globe Cinema, Cinematheque and IMAX.
