Winnipeg Man Arrested at Dauphin’s Countryfest

June 30, 2011 10:42 AM | News

Considering the sheer volume of people who are in Dauphin this weekend for Countryfest, only one person was arrested before the gates opened on Wednesday.

Dauphin RCMP arrested a 21-year-old Winnipeg man on Highway 10 Wednesday afternoon for impaired driving.

Police say traffic was lined up on the highway for about three kilometres waiting for the gates to open to the annual country music festival.

Three people were removed from the festival site for being intoxicated and held in cells.

Officers will continue to make check stops throughout the weekend.
