July 15, 2011 6:59 AM | News

A welcome home ceremony for the 2011 Cycle of Hope cyclists is set for Saturday at a Habitat for Humanity-sponsored home.

The 46 cyclists pedalled for 14 days and put on 1,600 kilometres from St. Louis, Missouri. They will end their journey on the last day of the two-week Habitat Building Blitz at 857 Nairn Avenue.

More than $150,000 was raised during the two-week tour, which will help fund the new home for homeowners Yoseph and Lensa and their four children.

Cyclists will marshal at St. Vital Centre at 12:45 p.m. and then receive a police escort down St. Mary’s Road over the Provencher Bridge, head north on Archibald and east over the Nairn bridge to the build site. (view route)

They’re expected to arrive by about 1:15 p.m.
