Pischke to Compete at Volleyball Championships in Brazil

University of Manitoba Bison volleyball recruit Taylor Pischke has been named to the Canadian women’s team at the 2012 FISU Beach Volleyball World Championships in Brazil.

Pischke, 18, returns to Manitoba after one season at the University of California (Santa Barbara) in 2011-12. The Winnipeg native earned her berth last weekend at Volleyball Canada’s new Beach High Performance Facility at Downsview Park in Toronto.

Also named to women’s team is Melissa Humana-Parades of York University in Toronto, while the men’s team will get Sam Pedlow and Grant O’Gorman of Queen’s University in Kingston.

The championship runs September 12-16 in Maceio, Brazil.
