The University of Manitoba is launching a new partnership today that will attract Brazilian graduate students to the city.

Brazil’s Science Without Borders (SWB) initiative is designed to province Brazilian students with international education opportunities.

SWB was launched in 2011 by the Government of Brazil and is aiming to send more than 100,000 Brazilian students to study science, technology, engineering and mathematics at institutions abroad by 2015.

Afonso Cardoso, Brazilian Consul General to Canada (Toronto), will visit Winnipeg today to participate in the launch.
