Skaters on Winnipeg’s River Trail can now travel further down the ice all the way to Churchill Park.
The Forks has groomed the trail down the Red River, making for a total of seven kilometres in length from Hugo Dock.
“We’re thrilled to be extending the River Trail down the Red into Riverview,” said Paul Jordan, chief operating officer of The Forks. “It’s awesome when we can groom the trail on both the Red and the Assiniboine. The River Trail connects our communities and neighbourhoods in a way that isn’t possible throughout the other seasons, that’s part of what makes it so unique.”
Along with the extended River Trail, the always unique Warming Huts will begin making an appearance on the river next week.
