Two kids on their way to school were robbed in separate, but similar incidents on Monday morning.
Winnipeg police say the first victim was a 12-year-old boy who was confronted in the area of Roch Street and Chalmers Avenue at around 8 a.m. The suspect was armed with a weapon and demanded the victim’s personal property before fleeing in a grey four-door Honda Civic.
Roughly 15 minutes later, a 16-year-old boy accompanied by two youths was approached in the area of Kimberly Avenue and Roch Street. Again, the suspect was armed with a weapon and made off with personal property from the victim before leaving in a Civic.
Neither of the boys were injured in the robberies.
The suspect in both cases is described as aboriginal in appearance, between the ages of 18-25, and about 6-feet tall. He also has a slight beard or goatee.
