The canopy skating rink at The Forks is now open for the season.
The rink is the first of many winter attractions to open, including Arctic Glacier Winter Park, with 1.2 kilometres of skating trails.
“This is just the beginning of many fun winter activities to come at The Forks,” said Paul Jordan, chief operating officer. “We may not be able to send you to the river for another few weeks, but the canopy rink is now open and being groomed daily.”
Also yet to open is the Olympic-sized skating rink near Scotiabank Stage, a toboggan run, the snowboard facility, and the new Great-West Life Snowman Lounge.
Skate rentals are available at Iceland Skate Rentals located adjacent to the skate changing area. Rates are $3 for children and seniors and only $5 for adults. Skate trainers are also available for $2.
