The federal government has provided a St. Boniface publishing house with $18,113 in funding.

Les Editions des Plaines will utilize the funding in producing, marketing, and distributing books in French in Western Canada.

“The coexistence of our two official languages enriches our culture. Les Editions des Plaines is a major promoter of French-language literature in Western Canada, and we are proud to support Canadian businesses like these that help strengthen the economy and cultural life of their region,” said MP Shelly Glover, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages.

Les Editions des Plaines has been publishing French literary works and school textbooks in Western Canada since 1979.
