Skaters can now lace up and glide along nearly one kilometre of on-land trails at The Forks.
The Arctic Glacier Winter Park opened for the season on Friday, signalling the start of free winter attractions from now until March, weather permitting.
“We’re embracing winter here at The Forks,” said CEO Paul Jordan in a release.
Jordan says the canopy skating rink and rink by the festival park stage are also opening this weekend.
Still to come in Arctic Glacier Winter Park are the toboggan run, a snowboard facility, and the snowman lounge. Skaters can take a break from the trails in the port and relax on a couch or chair made entirely of snow.
Skate rentals are $3 for children and seniors, and $5 for adults.
