No one was injured and no leaks occurred after nine CN Rail cars derailed Wednesday afternoon in Winnipeg.

The minor derailment occurred just after 5 p.m. behind the Federal Building, southeast of the corner of Portage and Main.

The city says there was no damage to property, and all cars remained upright throughout the incident. The cars were classified to carry dangerous goods, but were empty at the time.

Emergency crews had William Stephenson Way and Pioneer Avenue closed for a short time, but the area was reopened to traffic roughly 30 minutes later.
