WINNIPEG — City crews will close the Arlington Bridge this weekend to carry out inspection and maintenance work on the structure.
The bridge over the Canadian Pacific Railway yards from Logan Avenue to Dufferin Avenue will be closed from Saturday, March 14 at 7 a.m. to Sunday, March 15 at 6 p.m.
Motorists are reminded to allow additional travel time. Alternate routes include McPhillips Street to the west and Salter Street to the east.
The west sidewalk on the bridge will remain open to maintain pedestrian access.
The city is undertaking a study to look at how best to replace the aging Arlington Bridge. The next community workshop to discuss ideas will take place Saturday, March 21 from noon to 4 p.m. at King Edward School library, 825 Selkirk Avenue.
