The Canadian Red Cross is making its distinctive pink shirts available for purchase at a retail store for the first time in Winnipeg.

The shirts are part of Pink Day in Manitoba, meant to globally recognize bullying prevention days on February 24 and April 13.

“In the past, the shirts have only been available online and had to be ordered weeks in advance to arrive in time for Pink Day,” said Rebecca Ulrich, Canadian Red Cross provincial education manager.

The shirts can be purchased for $10 at Winnipeg’s London Drugs location at St. Vital Centre. Funds raised stay in Manitoba and go to support the Beyond the Hurt program, which teaches youth to educate their fellow students on how to deal with bullying and promote positive, respectful relationships in their schools.
