The Journey to Churchill exhibit at Winnipeg’s Assiniboine Park Zoo has been made a member of the Canadian Signature Experience Collection.
Destination Canada, Canada’s national tourism marketing organization, has announced 10 new members and the local attraction made the cut.
“Journey to Churchill has been an all-star attraction from the start, elevating the city’s profile to a new level,” said Chantal Sturk-Nadeau, senior vice-president of Tourism Winnipeg.
“This honour further proves that Winnipeg is filled with extraordinary experiences and continues to build our credibility as a four-season destination.”
The 90-minute “Discover the Magic of the North in the Heart of the Continent” tour includes an experience for discovering the wildlife, geography and culture of Manitoba’s majestic north. Visitors can see polar bears swim and play in the underwater viewing tunnels, gaze at the northern lights in the Aurora Borealis Theatre, and get an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the Leatherdale International Polar Bear Conservation Centre.
