The Manitoba Liberals pledged Wednesday to fund treatment for children suffering with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

Leader Rana Bokhari says children affected need applied behavioural analysis or ABA when they’re young, but the wait is currently too long.

“We find this unthinkable and that is why we are prepared to do the right thing, and do it now,” Bokhari said.

The Liberals would fund an additional $3 million annually in the treatment of autism in children.

Manitobans head to the polls on April 19.
