A 22-year-old Winnipeg man is facing charges after 16 separate offences in a series of violent robberies.
Kyle Aron Parisian was arrested on Sunday and charged with five counts of robbery and five counts of possessing a weapon. He was also the subject of two separate arrest warrants.
Police say between August 4 and September 10, Parisian was involved in several incidents involving armed robbery, assault, and vehicle theft.
In the first incident, two men were approached by the suspect on August 4 in the area of Balmoral Street and Cumberland Avenue while he was brandishing a knife and a board. Both victims were assaulted, but suffered non-life threatening injuries.
The latest happened on Saturday when the suspect robbed a restaurant while holding a knife in the 200 block of Henderson Highway. He arrived driving a Honda Civic stolen from the 400 block of Stella Avenue on August 8.
Later in the morning, he attempted to rob a gas bar in the 900 block of Jefferson Avenue while also brandishing a knife, but was unsuccessful.
A few hours later, the Civic crashed into a parked car in the 700 block of Flora Avenue. The suspect fled and later robbed a gas bar in the 1000 block of Keewatin Street of cigarettes before holding up a second gas bar in the same block.
Parisian remains in custody.
