After closing its doors across the country last summer, Ben Moss Jewellers will reopen under a new owner.

Charm Diamond Centres has acquired the rights to operate the jewelry store under its existing name and will reopen the top 16 Ben Moss stores in 14 markets.

Two stores will reopen in Winnipeg — at Polo Park and Kildonan Place. Others include stores in Ontario, Saskatchewan, Alberta and B.C.

The company will retain more than 100 current Ben Moss Jewellers employees to create a total of 175 jobs.

Charm will also offer new lifetime diamond guarantees for free to existing Ben Moss Jewellers’ customers at its Ben Moss stores. The same Ben Moss customers will also be entitled to extended service plans at a 25 percent discount to the listed plan costs.

Ben Moss has been Canadian owned and operated since 1910. The company went into creditor protection in May 2016 and closed its stores. Consumers expressed frustration when it was announced that jewelry guarantees would no longer be fulfilled.
