Police Bust Fraudulent Medical Marijuana Grow-Op in Southdale

Winnipeg Police CrestWinnipeg police raided a marijuana grow-op in Southdale on Tuesday after a lengthy investigation.

Officers executed a search warrant at a home in the first 100 block of Driftwood Bay after concluding a medical marijuana production licence had been fraudulently obtained.

Seized were 463 marijuana plants in three stages of growth, with potentially up to $518,560. Officers also seized 225 marijuana plants recently harvested and drying worth approximately $252,000. Grow operation equipment worth $30,900 was also seized.

A 61-year-old Winnipeg man has been charged and released on a promise to appear.
