The pair was travelling across a field near Harts Drive in the northern community when the accident happened at around 7:55 a.m.

A 24-year-old man suffered life-threatening injuries, while a 21-year-old was seriously injured when they were thrown from the snowmobile.

RCMP say neither rider was wearing a helmet, and alcohol and speed are considered factors in the crash.

Police continue to investigate.
