Winnipeg Goldeyes Sign Pitcher Tyler Herron

Winnipeg Goldeyes LogoThe Winnipeg Goldeyes have added right-handed pitcher Tyler Herron to the team’s roster.

Herron was claimed off waivers from the Lincoln Saltdogs on Wednesday in order to join Winnipeg.

The West Palm Beach, Florida native was 4-5 with a 7.33 ERA for the Saltdogs this season in 10 starts and two relief appearances. Herron currently ranks tied for fourth in the American Association in strikeouts (61) and fifth in innings pitched (66.1).

In a separate transaction, the Goldeyes activated veteran right-handed pitcher JC Sulbaran from the disabled list.

Left-handed pitcher Shane Dawson and third baseman Tommy Mendonca have cleared waivers and are now free agents.

Outfielder Dave Sappelt has been placed on irrevocable waivers for the purpose of granting his release.
