Two Winnipeg hunters who went missing last weekend near Grand Rapids, Manitoba have been found deceased.
RCMP say the men, aged 60 and 73, were part of a larger hunting party who went out together on ATVs Sunday afternoon. They had been camping at Long Point on Lake Winnipeg, south of Grand Rapids.
RCMP searchers in a helicopter located the men Tuesday afternoon in the water of Lake Winnipeg, south of Grand Rapids. Police say because the location is remote, it required some time to reach the hunters and confirm their identities.
Police say the deaths don’t appear to be suspicious and both men were found together.
One of two ATVs was previously found, but the second one is believed to be in the water.
RCMP Search and Rescue earlier deployed ground search teams and CFB Trenton used a search plane.
Autopsies have been scheduled and Grand Rapids RCMP continues to investigate.
