Manitoba’s police watchdog has launched an investigation into the death of a 41-year-old man following his arrest by Winnipeg police.
Officers were called to a disturbance October 25 near the CN rail line in east Winnipeg. They took a man into custody, who became unresponsible as he was being handcuffed.
The man was provided with medical support and taken to Concordia Hospital, where he died the following day. The Independent Investigation Unit says the cause of death is unknown.
